FAB’LIM supervises the realization of a technical and economic study aimed at characterizing and selecting, from a list drawn up by CEN Occitanie, a pool of broad-spectrum herbaceous species, relatively easy to produce, which will be put into production on agricultural plots in the fall as part of call for works contract to be launched in the summer of 2022. This study is based on numerous interviews with professionals in France to establish the constraints and estimated costs of producing species grouped together in large groups by behavioral similarities. This study also provides for the identification of volunteer farmers to initiate a seed multiplication activity on their plots, under the supervision of experienced seed companies present or wishing to set up in Occitania (planned development of cultivation contracts). The objective for 2023 will be to constitute a common seed stock with a view to increasing the capacity of producers to meet demand. The rules of use of this stock will be defined collectively.
