‘Fleurs Locales’ promotes the restoration of biodiversity through local seeds, mobilizing actors from three countries: Spain, France and Portugal. To ensure realistic results of this research, fieldwork is carried out with pilot farms whose public and private owners want to solve certain problems using native seeds, for example, vegetation cover, restoration of ecosystems, areas damaged by fires, improvement of ecosystem services, among others.
At this time of autumn, sowing has already taken place, following a careful process of selecting the most suitable seeds (and mixtures of seeds) for each place. Here you can find the map of the pilot farms participating in ‘Fleurs Locales’. These pilot projects will be the focus of research which aims to understand in each case the limitations and successes of the processes so that, based on common working methods, we can face specific local problems and draw common conclusions in the recovery of degraded spaces with native flowers.
